John is a 19 year old student from North London. His favourite genre of music is hip-hop and wants a magazine that will deliver more exclusive information on that particular genre than others. He wants a magazine that will give him reviews on individual songs and full albums as he’s interested in how his opinion differs compared to others and also wants recommendations on music he may find appealing. He would like exclusive interviews with his favourite artists and wants information regarding their future projects and what he can expect in the future. He wants a magazine that goes into further detail on both the commercial and the personal life of his favourite artists and wants to know their opinions on others and on topics that he is interested in himself. He wouldn’t appreciate a magazine that was stacked to the brim with textual columns, nor would he want one that was purely full of images, he would prefer if there was an equal balance of information and images on each page. Not only is he interested in the music, but in the whole era of hip-hop in general. He likes to remain an updated source of intelligence when it comes to hip-hop and likes to keep his look fresh and remain up to date with the latest trends and styles in the world of rap, therefore a magazine that wasn't 100% focused on just the music produced, but instead partly on the mayhem surrounding it would suit him perfectly.
